HyStarter II: District of Altenburger Land

About the region

Economically strong, family-friendly and culturally rich – that is the Altenburger Land district in the borders to Thuringia, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. A high standard of living and quality of life, the best location-based conditions for investors, and a good connection to the central German railway network are just a few of the advantages of our region. The district is geographically favourably located at the junction of important European main transport axes and in the vicinity of the growth centres of Jena, Leipzig, Chemnitz and Zwickau. In particular, companies from the automotive supply industry, mechanical and plant engineering, plastics processing and the food industry characterise the mix of industries. A total of 88,356 inhabitants live in the five towns and 25 municipalities of the district.

Durch die Nutzung des grünen Wasserstoffs als Kraftstoff für den Betrieb von 35 neuen Brennstoff­zellen- Bussen, 30 Pkw, Flurförder­zeugen und dem geplanten Wasserstoff-Technologie-Anwender­zentrum werden jährlich bis zu 4.500 Tonnen CO2 Tonnen CO2 eingespart.
